A young man was assaulted and then fatally stabbed with a sharp object on Friday night (27 March) at McDonald’s in Table View.
The deceased whose name and age has not been disclosed by the police, was a well-known figure in his community.
Sgt Wesley Twigg, a police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said a murder case has been registered at the Table View Police Station for investigation.
“Table View police registered a murder case for investigation following a stabbing incident at a fast food restaurant in which an adult male was fatally wounded,” Twigg said.
According to reports the victim and the suspect had an argument before he was stabbed.
The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The suspect fled the scene and is yet to be arrested. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
