In an inspiring show of dedication to young talent, the Young Dynasty Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) has taken on a new mission to support the rise of 16-year-old artist Lil Avo, whose viral TikTok hit “Love You Either Way” garnered over five million views, but was met with little support. The NPO, dedicated to promoting arts and culture, has now partnered with Star Struck Records to help Lil Avo launch his career the right way.

Lil Avo, whose real name is Elricardo Wilson, has faced challenges in securing the proper resources to advance his career, despite his undeniable talent. Thanks to the efforts of Young Dynasty, Lil Avo’s song will now be professionally recorded, mixed and mastered, giving him the platform he deserves. As part of his journey Lil Avo is launching his very own TikTok account (@IAmLilAvo), where fans can follow his progress and development as he navigates his path to stardom.

The organisation will also assist in registering the song to ensure that Lil Avo can properly monetise his work moving forward. His debut EP will be officially launched at the Blue Downs Family Festival on 1 March 2025, a family-friendly event with a focus on growth, development and support for young talent. The festival, which takes place in Blue Downs, will also serve as a fundraiser for the NPO’s mission to provide vital support to aspiring artists and cultural initiatives.

“Since the founding of Young Dynasty we have sought to empower emerging talent, especially in the arts and culture sectors,” said a representative from Young Dynasty. “Sadly, we have received no government support, which is why we’ve created our own funding mechanisms, such as the Back-a-Buddy campaigns, to support this mission. Through the festival and our collaborations with partners like Star Struck Records, we are ensuring that talent like Lil Avo has the opportunity to grow and succeed.”

Boosting local entrepreneurs

The Blue Downs Family Festival will not only provide a platform for Lil Avo’s EP launch but also offer local entrepreneurs the chance to apply for stalls, helping those with dreams but unsure where to start. The festival will focus on creating temporary jobs, boosting the local economy and offering family-friendly activities, particularly for children and seniors.

Tickets to Lil Avo’s launch at the festival are priced at R80 and can be purchased online. The song “Love You Either Way” will also be available on over 150 global streaming platforms soon.

To assist in this effort the public is encouraged to contribute through the Back-a-Buddy campaigns, one for Lil Avo’s EP launch and one for the festival. These funds will help cover production costs, the creation of a music video, equipment for Lil Avo (including a phone and mic), and support for future artistic endeavors in the community.
