A 58-year-old Wesbank resident has died after her house was petrol bombed on Saturday 17 June.
According to Mfuleni police spokesperson Captain Nomathemba Muavha, two different houses in Framesby Street in Wesbank were petrol bombed at about 04:30.
“No one was injured during the petrol bombing of the first house, however the structure was damaged,” says Muavha.
Meanwhile during the second reported petrol bombing, a 58-year-old woman died on the scene as a result of the injuries she sustained.
Muavha says four children between the ages of nine and 14 years who were also in the house at the time of the incident, were rushed to hospital.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the motive for the petrol bombings is being investigated.
