A woman, believed to be in her late 30s, was killed on today (17 February) when she was knocked over by a bakkie on the N7 opposite Dunoon.
According to a report from ER24 paramedics the woman was found lying in the left-hand lane of the road and the bakkie was found parked a short distance away.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries to her face and head and showed no signs of life.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the woman and she was declared dead on the scene.The driver of the bakkie was assessed and found to have escaped injury. Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.”
