Wesbank High School has
been flooded after last night’s (Wednesday’s) downpour.
According to Edith Van
Wyk, chairperson of the Wesbank Walking Bus, the school’s foyer has
been flooded preventing learners from entering the premises.
“The learners are still
standing outside,” she told TygerBurger at 09:20.
The local Walking Bus members assisted with
sweeping out the water, as the foyer is
the only entrance to the school building.
Van Wyk says the foyer floods
every time it rains and that she feels the department of education should step
in to sort the issue out as soon as possible.
“This is definitely a result of poor planning when the school was
constructed,” she says.
