The community health service Graceful Care Unlimited (GCU) held its annual “We Care Day” on Wednesday 11 October.

Manager and registered nurse Andrea Titus said the main aim of the event, presented in collaboration with Dr Zesca Meyer, who runs the HIV community club at GCU, is to honour and encourage its HIV clients to adhere to their anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment.

There was also a touch of pink to raise awareness about cancer as October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Titus says stakeholders who were part of the morning included WO Liesel Beukes of Kuils River police, as well as Ward councillors Wouter de Vos and Ebrahim Sawant, who arranged health packs for those attending. She thanked the City of Cape Town and the Department of Health: Khayelitsha Eastern Substructure (KESS) who gave donations for the lucky draw.
