Police have released the identikit of a man linked to a rape incident that occurred at the University of the Western Cape in Bellville.
The incident took place on Saturday 3 March around 23:05 after the perpetrator accompanied the victim to the residential area.
“It was established that the suspect is not a student at the institution as he had alleged,” Western Cape Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said.
UWC acting spokesperson of UWC, Professor Cherrel Africa, has confirmed to TygerBurger that the institution is working with police in this matter.
