Kleinvlei police have opened a case of murder against three teens for allegedly stabbing and killing 19-year-old Zadrian Raymond at Eerste River Secondary School on Tuesday (14 March).

According to Kleinvlei police spokesperson, Captain Florina Muller the three suspects, one aged 15 and two 16-year-old learners from Eerste River Secondary School are members of the Terribles gang and were previously suspended and recently returned to school.

“It is alleged that there was a fight between two rival gangs -the Rude Boys and Terribles – about two weeks ago and another earlier on Tuesday when one of the Terribles was assaulted outside the school premises,” she says.

Muller says that Raymond was on his way to his classroom at 11:05 when he was met by the three suspects. It is alleged that all three suspects started to stab the victim before leaving the scene.

Muller could not confirm whether or not the victim was a member of the Rude Boys gang.

“Raymond was taken to the sickroom at the school after he was stabbed in his back and neck and it is alleged that he died there,” she says.

The investigating officer, Sergeant Cheslin Christians confirmed that a case of murder has been open against the three suspects. They were arrested on the scene and taken to Mfuleni Police Station and detained at the cells. They will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 16 March.
