Police have confirmed that a 68-year-old man from Brackenfell died in an accident on the N1 at approximately 05:20 this morning (Friday 15 September).
Brackenfell police spokesperson, Captain Erica Crous, says it is alleged that the deceased was controlling a vehicle that was being towed by his son, who was driving a Toyota Corolla.
“They were travelling on the N1, direction Paarl. Just before the Okavango bridge the rope between the two vehicles allegedly broke.” She says it seems that the deceased lost control over the vehicle he was in, and hit a signpost with the side of the vehicle.
“The deceased passed away on the scene. A case of culpable homicide was opened and is being investigated,” Crous said.
