Police
have launched a manhunt for an Uber driver who allegedly assaulted a
26-year-old woman sexually outside her house in Delft.
According
to Sinathi Joni, police spokesperson, the assault happened at midnight on 27
July after dropping the victim at home.
Uber
Africa Spokesperson, Samantha Allenberg, says what was
described to them, is “deplorable”
and something no one should ever go through.
“We
are working with local authorities to support their investigation and
proceedings in any way possible. The individual has been permanently banned
from the app.”
Police
released a photo of the Uber driver, who is
believed to be in his mid-twenties.
Joni
says the driver is about 1.8m tall and medium-built.
