On Sunday 30 September at around 20:30 officers attached to Operation Combat followed up on information about drugs being stored at two premises in Parow.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says police found drugs at both addresses in Duncan Street during the search.
“A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the first premises for 1050 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R63 000,” says van Wyk
Van Wyk says cases of dealing in drugs and possession of drugs were registered for investigation.
“At the second premises, a 28-year-old woman was arrested for the possession of 630 Mandrax tablets worth an estimated R37 800.”
Cases of dealing in drugs and possession of drugs were registered for investigation.
Exhibits were booked in at Parow Police Station and both suspects will appear in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Tuesday 2 October (today) on the mentioned charges.
Van Wyk says the abuse of illegal substances is one of the root causes of violent crime, and he lauded the officers of Operation Combat for their efforts to take drugs off the
