Two police members were arrested on Friday 6 April at Zevenwacht Mall on a charge of corruption.
According to Western Cape police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, a 48-year-old captain and a 56-year-old warrant officer were arrested at a shopping mall in Kuils River on a charge of corruption after having accepted a bribe from a member of the public.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the two police members can be seen eating at Mugg and Bean in Zevenwacht Mall when they were arrested.
“The two suspects are due to make a court appearance on Monday (today) in the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court to face the charge against them,” says Traut.
