An investigation into the murders of two men shot at close range in their mouths, is underway in Delft.
The incident occurred around 01:30 on Friday 6 October in Eindhoven.
According to residents, they were woken by the sound of gunshots in their street, but were too afraid to go out and investigate. They waited until first light and found the lifeless bodies of the two men lying in a pool of blood.
Delft police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Brian Daniels, says police were alerted to the gruesome finding at 06:00 in Dadel Crescent.
“Police officers attending to the scene found two men with gunshot wounds to their heads. A preliminary investigation revealed that they were both shot at close range in their mouths,” Daniels says.
The victims, a 25-year-old and a 38-year-old were declared dead on the scene by medical personnel.
The motive for the killings is still unknown and Delft police are investigating two counts of murder.
Daniels says police recovered five spent cartridges on the scene.
“No arrested have been executed at this stage” he says.
