Two fires which broke out in Table View this morning have been contained.
Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Liezl Moodie says the first vegetation fire was reported at 10:01 on Gie Road.
“The fire has been contained and no properties were at risk.”
Resident Willem Van Zyl contacted TygerBurger to say he had just reported another vegetation fire along West Coast Road.
“The fire was burning just after Big Bay Boulevard and was moving in the direction of Melkbosstrand. I called the fire department at 10:10,” he says.
Moodie says this fire has also now been contained and firefighters are still monitoring both sites.
