Two people shot dead in Scottsdene

“We could hear the shots firing from Cavalleria Primary and police were patrolling.”

Two people died and four were shot on Thursday morning (26 October), after yet another shooting incident in Scottsdene.

According to sources in the community, today’s blood shedding was in retaliation of this past weekend’s so-called hit on certain gang members.

Messages on social media warned residents from outside of the “The Zoo” to not go into the area. Parents are scared for their children who have to walk to school while it’s raining bullets, and they cant do anything about.

People on social media and Whatsapp groups have started to pray for the families of the men who were killed today – and are praying for this ongoing war to end.

According to the neighbourhood watch, all schools in the area were advised to dismiss early due to the unrest in the area. “We could hear the shots firing from Cavalleria Primary and police were patrolling.”

Police comment was not available at the time of print.

Minister of community safety, Dan Plato visited the area last night to help address the problem of crime and gangsterism. councillor Grant Twigg also attended the meeting.

He said people need to stand up for their neighbourhood and need to take it back. “We can never allow crime and death become the norm, everyday life.”

Twigg says families live here with their children and grandparents and have invested time and money in their homes, so they cannot allow it to be taken away.
