Two men
died in a shooting that took place on Thursday evening, 22 March in Protea
Street in Kleinvlei.
According
to Kleinvlei police spokesperson, Captain Florina Muller, police were notified
of the shooting at around 21:00.
“Warrant
Officer Peter Daniels and his colleague rushed to the scene and upon arrival
found two victims dead, with one lying next to a car and the other at the door
to a house,” explains Muller.
The
deceased were 31 and 32 years of age respectively. Two other victims were also
injured in the incident.
“Police
confiscated two firearms on the scene – an R5 with 14 rounds of ammunition and
a 9mm firearm with seven rounds of ammunition,” says Muller.
Two cases
of murder and two cases of attempted murder are being investigated by
provincial detectives.
Muller says it is alleged that the incident is gang
related.
She confirms one suspect has been arrested.
