Traffic on the N1 was heavily backed up after a broken-down truck blocked two lanes this morning.
According to chief of traffic in the Western Cape, Kenny Africa, the driver wanted to park the vehicle before it went numb, causing a delay in the traffic.
“Motorists driving from Paarl to Cape Town were stuck in a traffic jam, it was a bumper-to-bumper situation,” he said.
As if that was not enough, the right lane on the N1 Outbound on Durban Road is closed due to roadworks.
Two more lanes are closed on the N1 Inbound between Jip de Jager Drive and Platterkloof Road.
