The community of Gersham in Kuils River were left shocked by a tragic shooting incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
TygerBurger received information from various source alleging a man shot his wife and daughter and eventually himself while the son managed to flee for his life.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, confirmed to TygerBurger that Kuils River police are investigating two counts of murder and an inquest.
“Kuils River police attended to a complaint in Old Nooiensfontein Road in the early hours of Sunday 25 September.
Upon arrival at the scene they found a male aged 48, female aged 44 and a girl aged 15 who sustained gunshot wounds.
The trio were declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel,” Swartbooi said.
When TygerBurger was at the scene during the course of Sunday morning, a broken window could be seen, on the side of the house, with shattered glass lying on the outside.
A bullet hole was also visible in one of the windows facing the street.
Several people, including neighbours, neighbourhood watch members, friends and relatives of the deceased gathered in the street while police and forensic officials were on scene.
