The Voice season 2 winner, Craig Lucas, was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight in Thornton on Tuesday 7 November.


The Voice season 2 winner, Craig Lucas, was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight in Thornton on Tuesday 7 November.  

The “Anti-Sociable” singer made the public aware of this incident on various social media platforms. 

According to Lucas he begged for his life when the one suspect told the other with the gun to shoot him, “but thankfully they didn’t,” reads Lucas’s Facebook post. “They seemed to be on meth/tik and could easily have shot me.” 

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said Pinelands police were investigating a robbery case following an incident in Poplar Avenue, Thornton, where 30-year-old Lucas was robbed of personnel belongings.

“According to reports the victim had a flat tyre and, while waiting for assistance, a vehicle stopped next to him and the occupants alighted and robbed him. The suspects fled the scene and had yet to be arrested,” Twigg said.
