A collision between a bakkie and an SUV in Klipheuwel Road in Durbanville this morning (Thursday 20 April) resulted in 10 people being injured.
According to a report from ER24 paramedics, they arrived on scene to find the SUV parked on the side of the road.
The bakkie was found some distance away down the bottom of the hill. Several patients were found seated around the bakkie.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, says paramedics assessed the patients and found that a total of 10 ten patients had been injured.
“ Assessments showed that the injuries sustained ranged from minor to moderate. The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. It is understood that the bakkie had rolled down the hill, ejecting the patients off the back of the vehicle. Fortunately, no-one from the SUV sustained any injuries. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” he says.
