In the early hours of yesterday morning (13 November), a taxi was found overturned on its roof near Jumbo in Epping, drawing the attention of emergency services and authorities.


In the early hours of yesterday morning (13 November), a taxi was found overturned on its roof near Jumbo in Epping.

“Elsies River police responded to a related incident on Bofors Circle at approximately 06:50.

The accident involved a white Isuzu five tonner, according to Sergeant Westley Twigg, provincial police spokesperson.

“No injuries were reported, and an accident report was completed without any criminal cases registered,” confirmed Twigg.

Montrio de Witt, Director of Western Cape Live, shared that a call was received by Western Cape Live from a towing company around 07:00, notifying them of the overturned taxi and services were promptly coordinated by their admin team.

“It was reported that the driver was injured, and we were informed that he was the only person in the taxi, although we could not confirm this. We also received no details about the cause of the accident,” said de Witt.
