Placards united in a powerful display of solidarity as the Table View community took to the streets on Wednesday, 29 November to raise their voices against gender-based violence.
The march in the Table View precinct started from the police station all the way to Church on the Rise in Blouberg Rise.
The campaign takes place annually from 25 November (International Day of No Violence against Women) to 10 December (International Human Rights Day). The sound of the newly established safety and security band welcomed all the attendees to the church.
“A candle was lit in memory of those who have lost their lives due to violence and everyone signed a pledge, promising to support victims of domestic violence and child abuse,” said Table View police spokesperson, Capt Adriana Chandler.
