The swift response of members of Goodwood police and Maitland Flying Squad led to the arrest of three male suspects following a house robbery in Goodwood in the early hours of Sunday morning (21 July).

“The officers responded to a complaint of a house robbery when they apprehended the suspects while fleeing the scene. A .38 Special revolver with ammunition was found in the bushes and a vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also confiscated.

Once charged the suspects will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ court on charges of house robbery, the illegal possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property,” says Sgt Wesley Twigg.

In an unrelated matter members of the Maitland Flying Squad responded to a house robbery in Cape Town on Sunday morning (21 July) and apprehended two men in a vehicle in front of the house with stolen property to the value of R80 000.

They face charges of house robbery and possession of stolen property.

They will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court once they have been charged.
