Two correctional officials were stabbed by an inmate at
Goodwood Prison yesterday (Tuesday 14 August).
Simphiwe Xako, spokesperson of
the Department of Correctional Services, said the stabbing happened during
unlock in the morning.
The officials
were rushed to hospital for medical attention for their injuries.
Both were
later discharged and are currently recuperating at home.
Xako said the
department has laid charges of assault and attempted murder.
