Builders is officially opening the doors of its brand-new warehouse store in River Quarter on Thursday, 30 October.
This marks the 16th Builders store in the Western Cape.
It’s another milestone in the retailer’s mission to bring the ultimate home improvement experience closer to South Africans.
Strategically positioned, Builders Haasendal offers exceptional access to a growing residential and commercial customer base.
More than just a store
Aisles are filled with the latest tools, paint, outdoor and braai essentials, home décor, construction materials, and more.
The new Builders Haasendal is more than just a store – it is a destination where ideas are sparked, projects are completed, and everyday South Africans find the inspiration and tools to build better lives.
“Opening Builders Haasendal is not only about expanding our footprint; it’s about creating a space that empowers people to transform their homes and communities,” says Langa Khanyile, Marketing Executive at Builders.

Community upliftment
Beyond great value and quality products, what sets Builders stores apart is their commitment to community upliftment.
Builders’ intentional approach of investing in the communities they serve is a deeply rooted value
“At Builders, we’re not only establishing stores and offering great value and service — we’re also helping strengthen communities,” says Frans Kamffer, store manager of Builders Haasendal.
“For our new store opening, we’ve partnered with Badisa, one of Africa’s largest social development organisations. We aim to assist Huis De Kuilen, a home for older people located just 2.5km from our store. This facility recently celebrated 50 years of care and service. It’s a special project close to our hearts, and it reflects our belief that every store opening should leave a positive impact on the surrounding community.”

Kamffer says they will brighten the home with plants, assist with general maintenance, and help establish a vegetable garden at the home.
Investing in youth
The commitment to local development extends to the next generation as well.
Builders Haasendal is also investing in young people through a partnership with De Kuilen High School, offering temporary placements to recent matriculants.
This initiative aims to open doors for young people, giving them hands-on experience in retail and an introduction to the working world.
Two to four De Kuilen matriculants will get the opportunity to work at the store for three months, after which they will be evaluated and may possibly be offered a more permanent position.
“We are especially concerned about matriculants who do not have the opportunity to go and study,” Kamffer says.
Builders Haasendal is set to become a cornerstone of the local area, with a welcoming design, extensive product range, and strong community focus. It will be a place where customers can find not just products, but endless possibilities.
