What is more adorable than the sight of flapping ears, tongues out and wagging tails on the beach?

Snapping a few shots and posting your furry friend running like a carefree child on the beach has become the new trend.

Beaches in Table View, Melkbosstrand and Sunset Beach have seen a spike in owners walking their dogs . . . all in the hope to snap that beautiful photo.

Residents used the community Facebook group to post their furry friends and have urged others to follow this trend.

“Just like your child has fun in the water, dogs are the same. And of course, we have thousands of photos of our kids . . . the same applies to our dogs who are part of the family,” Lynn Cummings says, who walks her dog on Bloubergstrand beach every other day.

“Join in on the fun and post your cutest photos of your dog running on the beach,” she says.

Two photographers, Trevor and his wife Cheryl Lynn Cranfield, often visit Kleinbaai beach and take a few photos of dogs. Cheryl says the dogs bring joy to so many.

“I, along with my husband, Trevor, want to do a coffee book called The Dogs of Kleinbaai in the future,” Cheryl says.
