Six people were left slightly injured when two trucks
collided on the McIntyre Road off-ramp on the N1 yesterday, 17 May.
According to the City of Cape Town’s spokesperson for
traffic, Maxine Bezuidenhout, a black car applied brakes in front of a truck,
which swerved to the right, losing control and jack-knifing.
“At the same time, a truck belonging to the City’s Water and
Sanitation Department was in the right lane and crashed into the jack-knifed
truck,” she says.
The incident happened just after 11:00 and caused heavy
traffic congestion until 13:30.
“Traffic officials were on the scene to make sure that
traffic flow was smooth.”
