Goodwood police are
investigating an attempted murder after a shooting incident at N1 City Mall.
Responding to a complaint on Wednesday 13 December, officers
arrived at the local shopping complex about 10:30 to find an unknown man on
the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Warrant Officer
Joseph Swartbooi the victim was transported to a nearby
hospital. “The unknown suspects fled the scene and have yet to be arrested,” he said.
Reports suggest the victim
was on his way to a financial institution to deposit cash. On his
way to the entrance three unknown armed men
reportedly jumped from a vehicle and fired numerous
gunshots at him, wounding him
seriously.
Swartbooi said the motive for the attack is now the subject of an
investigation by the South African Police Service.
