N1 City Shopping Mall has partnered with Grace Outreach NPO to bring much-needed support to underprivileged children. Through this heartwarming initiative, 132 pairs of school shoes were collected and distributed to children in need, ensuring they have the necessary footwear to attend school with dignity and comfort.

According to Telicia Erasmus, founder of Grace Outreach NPO, “we collected 132 pairs of school shoes, which were shared between two primary schools and children under social workers in safety homes in need of support”.

The schools that benefited from this project were: Kalksteenfontein Primary School and Marconi Beam Primary School.

To ensure the shoes reached the right recipients, emails were sent to primary schools in the Goodwood and Parow area requesting name lists of pupils in need. However, the greatest need was identified in the Kalksteenfontein and Phoenix communities.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support of various individuals and organisations:

Merrypack, which donated the boxes for packaging.

Roysten Gerbach from Kalksteenfontein Neighbourhood Watch, who assisted with the handout.

Miriam Gerbach from Hands of Grace NPO, who also played a vital role in the distribution.

Mariel da Vila from CPF Milnerton, who assisted in the Phoenix area.

The Milnerton Police Junior Commissioners, who contributed to the efforts.

Milnerton police officials, who ensured smooth and organised handouts.

“We had a fruitful and successful handout,” Erasmus added, expressing gratitude to all the donors and volunteers who made this project a reality.
