If you thought cricket couldn’t get any more exciting, think again! The Mother City is about to witness something truly special as internationally acclaimed DJ Shimza and chart-topping sensation Will Linley have been locked in to headline the entertainment for Betway SA20 Season 4.
Boxing Day bangers with Shimza
Our very own MI Cape Town will be taking on Durban’s Super Giants on Boxing Day (26 December), and Shimza will be setting Newlands absolutely alight with his signature dance hits on the loop™ stage. If you know Shimza’s vibe you know this is going to be one helluva way to kick off your festive season! Shimza (real name Kholofelo Ashley Raphala) is an internationally acclaimed South African DJ, producer and promoter, recognised as a leading figure in the global Afro-house and Afro-tech music scenes. Born and raised in Tembisa, Johannesburg, he developed a musical interest at the age of 15 and signed a recording deal with Soulistic Music and released his debut studio album Shimuzic in 2015.
“Betway SA20 is where cricket and entertainment come together, the energy starts in the stands and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Shimza shared. Trust us, when this legend hits the decks Newlands is going to be buzzing like never before!
Will Linley’s final showstopper
Fast forward to 25 January, and pop sensation Will Linley will bring those feel-good vibes to the sold-out final half-time show. The man who’s been dominating our local charts will be celebrating whoever becomes the Season 4 Champions and, knowing Linley’s energy it’s going to be absolutely epic. The 23-year-old South African pop singer and songwriter, who is known for his emotional “sad-pop” songs that blend raw lyrics with upbeat melodies, rose to fame through TikTok and is best known for his breakout single, “Miss me (when you’re gone)”, which went gold and hit #1 on South African radio.
“I’ve always loved the atmosphere of South African sport, it’s full of heart and passion,” Linley said about his upcoming performance. “Being part of Betway SA20 and performing for fans from all walks of life is such a privilege.”
