A wave of joy has swept through the hallways of a local retirement home as seniors at Huis Zonnekus in Milnerton were spoiled with food and gifts last week.

This was all made possible by a local resident Patricia Belcher who took the initiative to treat the seniors for the day. These cherished seniors, who have weathered the seasons of life with resilience and grace, were in awe of the treats and gifts.

“Today was just to make them happy and to give them something. It was just something I felt I wanted to do,” Belcher says.

Magda Fourie who has been at the home for two years says she appreciates the hard work and donations provided.

“This was absolutely amazing,” she says.

Another resident, Connie Young, says she appreciates all the gifts and treats.

The Milnerton Flea Market donated bars of soap and the La-Di-Da Knitting Ladies made beanies and bed socks.
