The In Touch Athletic Club is putting the finishing touches on the logistics for the 14th annual Voet of the Wine Route road races, taking place on Sunday 28 September at Zevenwacht Mall, Kuils River.
With online entries closing on Wednesday 24 September, excitement is building among local runners.
Number collection is scheduled for: Friday 26 September from 14:00 to 18:00; Saturday 27 September from 10:00 to 14:00; and race day from 05:15.
Late entries may be available on Friday and Saturday, but rather enter online to avoid disappointment.
Online entrants have the option to make a donation to the event’s chosen charities, Hope House and Cansa Active, adding a feel-good element.
The organisers have expressed their appreciation to the residents of Haasendal, Jagtershof, Vredelust, and those living off Langverwacht and Zevenhof Roads for their support and understanding on race day. Locals are warmly encouraged to join in—whether by running or cheering from the sidelines.
Radio Eersterivier will be broadcasting live from the event, ensuring a festive atmosphere.
A highlight of the race is the opportunity for 10km and 21,1km runners to pass through the stunning Zevenwacht Wine Estate, offering panoramic views of Cape Town and Table Mountain.
Runners are encouraged to bring their phones to capture memorable moments among the vineyards.

Three distances
The event features three distances: 21,1km half marathon (starts at 06:30), 10km (06:45) and a 5km fun run (07:45).
A total prize purse of R32 000 is up for grabs in the 10km and 21,1km races, with medals awarded to all finishers.
The Asics Front Runner team, boasting more than 20 elite runners, will be aiming to break last year’s impressive 1:10 half marathon time. Hyundai will provide a car to lead the top 21km runners.
The event is perfectly timed for runners preparing for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, offering a final long run before tapering.
Lucky draw
This year’s race features a host of lucky-draw prizes, including: a laptop from It Needs, water dispensers from Aqua Angel, vouchers from Grosch Properties and two pairs of running shoes from Asics.
The first 500 entrants across all distances will receive goodie bags, so early registration is encouraged.
Race day access to Zevenwacht Mall will only be via Van Riebeeck Road. Zevenhof Road and Skilpaddam Road will be closed to traffic.
The organisers extended their gratitude to the City of Cape Town’s events department, which has been a longstanding and supportive partner in delivering a successful race year after year.
