Khayelitsha police pounced on three car thieves in Goodwood on Sunday (5 February) following a house robbery during the early hours.
According to a report from provincial police, a Khayelitsha man was awoken when somebody knocked on his door at 04:10. He opened the door to find three unknown suspects threatening him with a firearm and demanding his car keys.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, says the suspects fled the scene with the vehicle.
“The vehicle was fitted with a tracker and police traced it and found it in Goodwood. Three suspects, two men and a woman were arrested. The vehicle was recovered and a revolver with live rounds was also confiscated. The suspects are facing charges of house robbery and illegal possession of a firearm.”
