The resurfacing of a 478m long stretch of Paul Kruger Street between Wellington Road and Protea Way in Durbanville is set to start on Monday 22 January.
The roadworks will last until 31 January, according to a media release by the City of Cape Town.
The is undertaken by the City of Cape Town’s Transport and Urban Development Authority.
The completion of this project is subject to prevailing weather conditions and unforeseen project delays, according to the media release.
The roadworks will take place daily from 09:00 to 16:00. One lane at a time will be closed in each direction.
‘Traffic flow will be impeded but the contractor will keep any disruptions to a minimum. Due to the expected congestion in the area, I urge residents and commuters to consider making use of alternative travel routes’, said Suzette Little, the City’s Mayco member for area north.
‘The implementation of this project will provide an improved travel surface for the benefit of the road users’, she said.
The City apologises for any inconvenience caused by the roadworks, and would like to thank road users in advance for their patience.
