Have you ever wondered how the MyCiTi bus service works and what it feels like to ride a MyCiTi bus? Then wonder no more because on Sunday 19 March the service will be free to all commuters – that is all residents and visitors to Cape Town.

“This is a great opportunity for residents and tourists to get first-hand experience of how easy and convenient it is to use the MyCiTi service to go places around Cape Town,’ said Mayco member for Transport and Urban Development, Brett Herron.

“This free travel is available all day long on Sunday – from the morning when the service commences until the evening when the last buses depart. Commuters do not need a myconnect card to travel on the bus on this day. Furthermore, passengers can make as many trips as they wish, on any bus and on any route for as long as the service is operational,’ said Herron.

Coinciding with this free travel day is the exhibition of the six proposals that the City has received from the private sector for the development of the Foreshore Freeway Precinct in the Cape Town central business district.

“The exhibition at the Civic Centre in Hertzog Boulevard is open on Sunday from 08:30 to 16:00 to view these proposals and to tell us what they think,’ said Herron.
