Eastridge Neighbourhood Watch members painted a wall covered in gang tags. The wall is one of several more that will be painted over as a sign to gangs that the area does not belong to them. The City of Cape Town sponsored the paint and equipment and children from the area painted their handprints on the wall.

Eastridge Neighbourhood Watch, in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Health and the Cape Flats YMCA held a Message of Hope event at Eastridge Community Centre. Residents were given free health checks and Jars of Hope and speakers, encouraged residents with messages of hope. Here Azrah Eckerode tests Candice Phili’s blood pressure.

Firefighters from Mitchell’s Plain fire station handed out cups of soup and bread and interacted with residents at  Sewende Laan in Strandfontein. The informal settlement was the firefighters' final stop of the day. They had also visited informal settlements in Westridge and Rocklands.
