Dagga worth R40 000 was discovered by Cape Town Metro Police
in Parow Valley this morning.
According to Metro Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent
Zelda Martin, the dagga was found just after 08:00.
“Metro Police officers were on patrol in the northern
suburbs and spotted a Toyota Yaris reversing from a driveway at a house in
Parow Valley,” she says.
“They stopped the vehicle and on approach, smelled dagga.”
Martin says the officers searched the vehicle and found
three packets of dagga hidden under the spare wheel in the boot.
“They then conducted a search in the house and found 16 more
bags of hydroponic dagga with an estimated street value of R40 000.”
The 48-year-old suspect was arrested and is detained at
Parow Police Station on a charge of dealing in drugs.
