The PWP Neighbourhood Watch held its annual Santa Drive this past weekend, spreading festive cheer across the community and bringing joy and excitement to families ahead of the holiday season.
The event was held on Saturday 29 November.
PWP covers Plattekloof, Welgelegen, Panorama and Kleinbosch.
Mark Buttner, PWP chair, says the drive was organised by committed committee members and volunteer patrollers. The annual event saw Santa Claus touring the neighbourhood atop a brightly decorated vehicle. Children and adults gathered along the route, waving as Santa passed by and enjoying moments of festive magic, Buttner says.
“The smiles on the children’s faces said it all,” he says.
He adds: “Their joy made every bit of planning worthwhile. We are incredibly grateful to our committee members and patrollers, whose dedication and service made this special event possible.”
The Santa Drive reflects the neighbourhood watch’s commitment, not only to community safety, but also to building unity and a strong sense of belonging, Buttner says, adding that the event once again demonstrated how simple acts of kindness can bring people together, and create lasting seasonal memories.
The organisation says it extends a heartfelt thanks to Santa for his spirited appearance and to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s drive.
