River police are encouraging the owner of the dog, which was allegedly run over
by a police vehicle in Neptune Street, to come forward.
We urge the owner to please come forward so we can continue with investigations.

It’s
believed the dog was run over in the early hours of Thursday 1 March.
Police
spokesperson, Captain Daphne O’Reilly, says they are looking into the matter.
“A resident
has shared the video footage of this incident, however no docket has been
opened by the owner of the dog. We urge the owner to please come forward so we
can continue with investigations.”
The video
has since gone viral on Facebook, with many viewers expressing outrage at the
cruelty of the matter.
TygerBurger contacted the SPCA, but there has
been no response as yet.
