Police
have seized 4 000 Mandrax tablets, nine packets of tik worth an estimated
street value of R291 000 and an undisclosed amount of cash in Bothasig on
Thursday evening.
According
to Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, the police stopped the 45-year-old
suspect in his tracks when following up on information received about drug
dealing in the area.
“Authorities
proceeded to the address, and upon searching the house the drugs were found,”
he said in a statement.
The
suspect was arrested on a charge of dealing in drugs and will appear in the
Goodwood Magistrates’ Court.
The
Western Cape police management praised the members who prevented drugs from
reaching the streets and destroy lives.
