The shooting which occurred on Thursday 9 March at about 14:30 in Bourne Road followed an earlier shooting in Boater Close where a 19-year-old member of the Bad Boys gang was murdered.
Police spokesperson, Captain Daphne O’Reilly, says in the second shooting two members of The Terribles were found in an alley with gun shot wounds.
She says it is alleged that the two gangsters were standing in Bourne Road when two armed suspects approached them.
“The suspects opened fire on the victims, and the victims ran to nearby houses. Both victims belong to The Terribles gang. The first male victim had five bullet wounds. He was shot in both feet, right arm and right hip. The second male victim was shot in the buttocks. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment and 24 cartridges were found on the scene.”
According to an earlier report from Elsies River police, Jason Joseph (19) who is a member of the Bad Boys gang was shot by a member of The Terribles gang at about 08:10 on Thursday morning.
O’Reilly confirms that police are investigating whether or not the attempted murder of the two members of The Terribles gang is in retaliation of Joseph’s murder.
