Two homes occupied by members of the 28s gang in Kalksteenfontein were raided by police yesterday (14 February).
According to a report from Bishop Lavis police, detectives received information at 09:00 yesterday about firearms being stored in two houses.
Police spokesperson, Captain Marie Louw, says with the assistance of the dog unit and the Crime Combat Unit (CCU) officers searched a property in Hydrangea Street where they found a double-barrel shotgun on top of a Wendy House. Officers also found 25 bore rounds, 36 R5 rounds, two 9mm rounds and one 30-06 round of ammunition.
Louw says officers then moved onto a house in Panoster Square also occupied by the 28s gang and confiscated 10 packets of tik and a firearm holster inside a hole in the wall.
