Two Rastafarian men were arrested in Durbanville on Monday (22 May) for stealing valuable bulbous plants from a local farm.

Shortly after 16:00, TygerBurger was called to Vissershok Road where the farm owner had kept the men until Durbanville police arrived.

The two men were arrested and taken to the station later in the afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Theo Fisher, confirmed the arrest and said the men are currently in custody at the Durbanville Police Station.

He confirms that the men were caught by a farm owner and says the plants stolen are endangered species.

This arrest follows an earlier incident where seven Rastafarians were arrested for stealing the rare plants valued at R65 000 in Durbanville.
