A man,
believed to be in his 20s, was injured when he was knocked over by a runaway
boat on a trailer while walking along Tygervalley Road in Richwood yesterday.
Russell
Meiring, spokesperson of ER24, says their paramedics, along with
Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene where they found the man lying on the
side of the road. A boat and trailer were parked a short distance away, says Meiring.
The man
injured his arm. Paramedics treated his injuries and provided him
with pain-relief medication. He was transported to Karl Bremmer Hospital for
further treatment.
Meiring
says it is understood that the trailer had come loose from a vehicle, causing
it to veer off the road and crash into the pedestrian.
