Elsies River police registered a culpable-homicide case for
investigation, following an incident on Thursday 2 November at 06:45.
According to reports a 52-year-old taxi driver was driving
his Toyota Quantum in the yellow lane ( to skip traffic) at Jakes Gerwel Drive
and hit a pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, who died on the scene.
According to
provincial police spokesperson Capt Frederick van Wyk, the taxi driver was
arrested and will appear in court on Friday 3 November.
