The ER24 private ambulance services confirmed it had attended a scene in Tierberg Street, Bothasig this week, when two women were attacked and bitten by a dog.
Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, said the incident occurred on Wednesday 15 October.
“Our paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 14:00 and found a woman, believed to be in her 60s, inside the house with serious injuries. She was assessed and treated on the scene before being transported to the hospital for further medical care.”
The second woman was assessed and treated on the scene by another medical service, she said.
An armed response team from District Watch, a private security company, also attended the scene.
According to their reports the male householder stated the dog owned by him and his wife had attacked her and their domestic.
The two patients were assessed and treated immediately on the scene, as per the District Watch Facebook page.
