A lot of hard work is being done in preparation for the return of the Durbanville Rotary Club’s iconic Oom Piet’s Christmas Party.
After a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the much-beloved Oom Piet’s Christmas Party is back from 4 to 13 December at Durbanville Race Course.
“We are thrilled to announce that Hollywoodbets has generously allowed us to use the venue again, where our beautiful castle still stands,” says Carol Millar, a member of Durbanville Rotary Club.
“On Saturday 8 November our dedicated team mowed the lawn, dug deep holes and planted poles to create an enclosed arena for the festivities. They also fitted the recently restored windows and doors to the castle,” she says.
Charity night
The opening night on Wednesday 3 December will be a charity night for 100 children from underprivileged communities. Each child will receive a meal, ice cream, a cold drink and a special gift from Father Christmas. The following nights, until 13 December, will be open to paying guests.
Fantasy princesses, who will feature in Oom Piet’s Christmas Party, will greet and entertain the children, including Spider-Man, Elsa, Snow White, Belle and Cinderella.
A special show will also be presented on Thursday 11 December exclusively for children with special needs and neurodiversity to let them also experience a night of magic. These tickets will be available at a reduced price of R150 and only available directly from Carol Millar at millar@mweb.co.za.
“All proceeds of the shows will go toward uplifting our local community,” Millar says.
. Tickets are on sale via Quicket at R180 per person.
