A 22-year-old police officer was shot and killed in Mfuleni
last night (Wednesday 4 July).
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana,
Constable Vuyo Mkhosana was shot in his head on the corners of Booi and Jama
streets in Mfuleni at about 20:50. At the time of the incident Mkhosana, who
was stationed at the Provincial Stabilisation Unit, was off duty.
“Constable Vuyo Mkhosana was shot in his head and was
transported to a medical facility where he succumbed to his injuries,” says
Rwexana.
A case of murder has been opened and is currently being
investigated by the Hawks.
