A ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the official opening of Eduvos Tygervalley Campus’s new Faculty of Applied Science in September.

The northern suburbs now has expanded opportunities for aspiring scientists and healthcare professionals, with Eduvos Tygervalley Campus having officially launched its new Faculty of Applied Science.

The September launch event celebrated the introduction of programmes in Biomedicine and Biotechnology – fields that are increasingly crucial in today’s job market, particularly in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and environmental science.

“Hosting the launch of our Faculty of Applied Science is a proud moment for Eduvos Tygervalley,” said Aamina Gangat, campus general manager. “This faculty represents our dedication to preparing students for meaningful, in-demand careers in the sciences, while ensuring that access to higher education remains inclusive and achievable for all.”

Local access to in-demand careers

The programmes are designed to give students hands-on experience in laboratories and real-world applications, preparing them for careers in:

  • healthcare and medical research;
  • pharmaceutical development;
  • genetic research;
  • environmental science and sustainability.

For students who don’t yet meet university entry requirements, Eduvos offers Access Programmes – a supported pathway that helps bridge the gap to higher education.

The launch represents Eduvos’s continued investment in the northern suburbs education landscape, bringing specialised science education closer to home for local families.

Applications open now

The faculty is accepting applications for its January 2026 intake. Early applications are encouraged as places are limited.
