After 22 years of serving the Table View community, well-known police officer Lizette Pietersen was officially promoted to the rank of Captain.
The prestigious rank was conferred by the provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembisile Patekile, during a formal ceremony.
Known for her dedication and professionalism, Capt Pietersen has played a vital role in assisting the community with police clearance certificates at Table View Police Station. Her promotion marks a significant milestone in her career and a testament to her commitment to serving the public.
She started her career in 2002 at Pretoria Police College where she did her training. She was then placed at Table View Police Station after completing her training successfully.
Capt Pietersen worked on the shifts and was elected as a field training officer, responsible to train students who were in the process of completing their training as police officers. She has been assisting the community with police clearance certificate applications for a number of years and has done so diligently and professionally.
“Thank you for everything over the years. I have learned a lot from each and every one and I will forever be grateful,” she says.
New journey
Her colleagues described her as a person with a vivacious personality and with an infectious laugh. She is always courteous, respectful and professional. She will be dearly missed after spending 22 years with her “police family” at Table View.
Capt Pietersen will start a new chapter in her professional career at Mowbray Police Station on 2 January 2025 as the Visible Policing Commander, who will share her extensive knowledge and expertise in this environment.
The Station Commander, Col Tjikamba Mbangu, and the management at the station have expressed their gratitude towards Capt Pietersen for her dedication and commitment towards her duties as a police officer. A farewell will be attended by her colleagues before she departs to her new station
